Jose Manuel Pérez Marzabal is a technology lawyer, currently based in Barcelona and London where he leads his own legal consultancy firm, mtnprojects.com. Jose Manuel advises and provides professional services to Internet startups, global corporations, law firms, and IT consulting firms. He has over 12 years experience of advising clients on all aspects of technology, multimedia and telecommunications legal issues and has led many multi-jurisdictional information governance and data protection compliance projects. Particular experience in advising in relation to high technology matters. He was Invited Expert to the Dot Eu Legal Working Group and he has been also invited to join the Revista de Contratación Electrónica.
He has been passionately involved with information society since the 90s. During his professional experience, while working in London, Madrid and Barcelona, he oversaw and participated in the development of several Internet Startups and Business Ventures. He speaks regularly on Internet and IP law, and has authored numerous articles and contributions to books on those topics.
Nowadays, he is also researching the intersections of the three disciplines law, business administration and economics and the nexuses between IP Law and innovation, market transparency and antitrust on the Internet as Eur Doctor candidate at University of Barcelona (supervisor: Prof. Dr. Font). He has conducted research at CCLS and Queen Mary University of London (advisor: Dr. Walden) and University of Amsterdam (advisor: Prof. Dr. Schinkel).
